Congratulations on this beautiful journey of motherhood!
As a photographer and a mother I understand the importance of capturing the radiant glow and joy that comes with expecting a baby. To ensure your maternity photography session at my Charlottesville studio is a memorable and enjoyable experience, here's a comprehensive guide on how to prepare for the day.
Timing is Everything:
Schedule your maternity session during the second trimester, around weeks 28-32. During this time, your belly has a lovely round shape, and you're likely feeling your best.
Wardrobe Choices:
Choose clothing that highlights your baby bump. Flowy dresses, fitted tops, and wrap dresses work well. Solid and natural colors or subtle patterns tend to photograph beautifully.
All my clients have an access to my client closet with many choice for all body sizes and shapes.
Comfort is Key:
My secluded natural light studio is a safe space, perfect for intimate photos.
I will encourage you to show off your belly and body to capture this magical process. Let me show you how beautiful you are expecting. But will always want you to feel comfortable in the process.

Accessorize:
Bring along accessories that hold sentimental value, such as baby shoes, ultrasound photos, or any other items you'd like to incorporate into the session.
Hair and Makeup:
Consider getting your hair and makeup done professionally for a polished look.
Keep it simple and natural – enhancing your features without going overboard.
Include Your Partner and Siblings:
If your partner or other children will be part of the session, coordinate outfits and ensure everyone feels comfortable.
I also have toddler, up to 6T closet for your little ones and shirts for male shirts.

Relax and Enjoy:
Take a few moments before the session to relax and connect with your growing baby.
Communicate with Your Photographer:
Share any specific ideas or preferences you have for the session with me. I am here to make your vision come to life.
Props and Personal Touches:
If you have specific props or ideas in mind, discuss them with me beforehand. I am always open to ideas and artistic vision for your session!

Preparing for your maternity photography session is an exciting part of the journey to motherhood. By following these tips, you'll not only ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience but also create lasting memories that beautifully capture the anticipation and joy of this special time in your life. Remember to relax, enjoy the process, and let your natural glow shine through!
